I can’t believe I actually started this! I owe a very big thank you to my friends and family for their unwavering support. My deep passion for politics and understanding how our world functions has always driven me, especially through the lens of my African heritage.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been known as a yapper—a certified yapper, as some would say, about the subjects I care about most.
While I had countless ideas, I wasn’t quite sure how to share them. Creating this platform felt like a natural step. Admittedly, I don’t feel entirely confident, but this space represents both my thoughts and an invitation to the world to join in my passion. My hope is that everyone who visits feels inspired, enlightened, and shares in the excitement I have.
A bit about me: My name is Fatima Zahra Kassim. I’m currently in my third year at Tufts University, studying International Relations and Economics. My roots are in Ghana and Nigeria, though I currently call New York City home. In my spare time, you’ll find me hanging out with friends, painting, reading, experimenting with makeup, or hitting the gym, as I’ve recently discovered a love for fitness.
African literature has captivated me recently. This summer, I set a goal to read ten books, and I’m pleased to say I achieved it. Two standouts for me were Stay With Me by Ayobami Adebayo and Born on a Tuesday by Elnathan John—I highly recommend them!
I’m also a passionate foodie who loves exploring new cuisines. Some of my favorites include Pad Thai and Ayamase. I hope sharing these personal tidbits helps you connect with me beyond the screen. What I offer here is not just a collection of thoughts but a genuine reflection of who I am and what I aim to represent.
So, welcome to Koyi da Zahra. This journey is one of growth and discovery for both of us.
